Aloha! Courtnie is a New York State licensed esthetician with deep roots in Hawai’i. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biosciences and Biotechnology from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa in 2019. Initially, she aspired to work in a pharmaceutical lab, contributing to the development of new medications. However, she soon realized that her extroverted nature wasn’t suited for the solitary environment of a lab. While highly detail-oriented, organized, and analytical, she thrives in dynamic, people-focused settings, where she can utilize her adaptability, patience, and empathetic demeanor.

During her undergraduate studies, she was introduced to clinical research, discovering it to be a perfect fit for her personality and skill set. For the past four years, she has worked as a clinical research coordinator, overseeing numerous trials in neurology, psychiatry, dermatology, and wound care.

Her role in managing dermatology studies led her to the world of medical esthetics. Prior to this, she only associated estheticians with waxing and facials but soon discovered the vast scope of the field. She learned that estheticians also perform advanced treatments like laser therapies, chemical peels, and microneedling. She found remarkable parallels between clinical research and medical esthetics: both focus on addressing specific concerns to improve people’s lives—whether through new medications or through treatments that enhance individuals' confidence in their own skin. She’s excited to combine her scientific background with her passion for helping others feel beautiful inside and out.
